PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) - Incumbent Republican Susan Collins maintains a sizeable lead over Democrat Tom Allen in the latest poll done by SurveyUSA. SurveyUSA interviewed 800 Mainers on October 29th through the 31st. They asked: "If the election for U.S. Senator were held today, for whom would you vote?". 56% chose Collins, while 42% favored Allen. Only 2% were undecided. The margin of error for this poll was plus or minus 3.8%.
Of those polled, 748 were registered to vote. And SurveyUSA determined 674 of them had already voted or would be voting.
