BIDDEFORD (NEWS CENTER) -- George and Barbara Bush were on hand today as the University of New England dedicated its George and Barbara Bush Center at the school's Biddeford campus.
The center includes a Bush Legacy Library, including memorabelia from the family's time here in Maine, and an exact replica of the desk that sits in the oval office. The building also includes offices that the former President said he will use to meet with guests, and a cafe where students and visitors can take a break while getting a great view of the ocean.
President Bush told students gathered outside the building that he thinks the space looks fantastic, and he's looking forward to coming to the school by boat in the future. He also urged them to think about how they can use their education to help others.
The George and Barbara Bush Center is expected to be open to the public next month.
