YARMOUTH, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The state fire marshal's office is working to determine the cause of a fire that spread to a propane tank in Yarmouth.
Firefighters were called to 527 Ledge Road just before 1:00pm this afternoon. A woman who was going to the home to feed the dogs discovered the fire.
It was originally reported as a propane tank explosion. Once firefighters arrived they found a plastic enclosure attached to the back of the house on fire. The fire had spread to a propane tank inside that enclosure.
Crews had the fire under control in about twenty minutes. The fire marshal's office has been called in to determine how the fire started.
