While National Parks like Acadia remain closed during the government shutdown, state parks like Bradbury Mountain were packed with leaf peepers.
During Columbus Day weekend, this park will see a couple thousand people a day through the gates, and park manager, Fritz Appleby, says their campgrounds have seen a lot of traffic the last few weekends.
According to Maine's official foliage tracking website, it's currently peak viewing time in southern and coastal parts of the state.
