LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It was five months ago that three fires destroyed several Lewiston apartment buildings, leaving about 200 people without homes.
The American Red Cross United Valley Chapter will be honoring those who helped with the disaster relief efforts with a program tonight at the Hilton Garden Inn in Auburn.
Speakers include a fire victim, who will share a firsthand account of the disaster, and the support that followed.
The Red Cross reports 70 volunteers helping the United Valley Chapter serve 1,100 meals immediately following the fires.
Among the community partners to be honored tonight: Catholic Charities, the Salvation Army, the United Way, the YWCA, and many more.
