Cushing, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - One person was killed, and another injured in a car accident early Saturday morning in the town of Cushing.
The Knox County Sheriff's Department says Elliot Montgomery of Friendship was driving a 2003 Dodge truck that went off Route 97 at around 1:30. The truck travelled more than 150 feet through some small trees and brush before rolling over several times and landing on its roof.
Montgomery was pronounced dead at the scene. His passenger, Frederick Ames, Jr. of Friendship was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Investigators say it appears speed and alcohol are believed to be factors in the crash.
