WATERVILLE, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A high speed chase ended Tuesday afternoon not far from Bangor on I-95 after state police set up spike mats to stop a man who they say was suicidal and may have been driving drunk.
Police say 29 year old Jason Brown stole a red pickup truck from Charlies car dealership in Waterville and was attempting to drive to Houlton. Lieutenant Wesley Hussey of the Maine State Police says it appeared that Brown had cut his wrists. Officers tried to use spike mats near Clinton and Newport, but he drove around them. They eventually got him to hit spike mats near Bangor. There is no word on his condition. He faces numerous charges.
