SACO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Saco Drive-in will be able to open for seasons to come, thanks to tens of thousands of votes from all over the country.
The theater needs a new digital projector because movie studios are going to stop releasing their movies on film. Installing a new projector could cost as much as ninety thousand dollars. That cost would force the drive-in to close.
The drive-in entered a national contest sponsored by Honda to win a digital projector. It was one of five drive-in theaters in the country to win. The business invited the community to celebrate Wednesday night with a free movie and free popcorn.
