PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - After eight months of construction, traffic can now flow smoothly on Baxter Boulevard.
It was closed all that time for work on a sewage and wastewater project.
The road had been torn up so new sewage tanks could be installed.
Initially -- there were concerns about this road work because of the traffic flow through the area. The Baxter Boulevard exit off of 295 had to be closed -- and cars took detours on side streets in the neighborhood to get around.
The road is back open as of 7 this morning.
