MACHIAS, Maine (AP) - The eastern Maine town of Machias is celebrating all things blueberry for the next three days during the 38th annual Machias Wild Blueberry Festival.
The festival begins on Friday and features blueberry farm tours, a blueberry pancake breakfast and a blueberry pie-eating contest.
There'll also be crafts, food, entertainment, contests, a children's parade, a road race, a baked bean supper and the 8th annual Blackfly Ball on Saturday night. The festival wraps up on Sunday.
Machias is in the heart of Maine's wild blueberry industry in Washington County, where thousands of acres of blueberries are grown.
