Cincinnati, OH (Sports Network) - Todd Frazier's three-run double highlighted
an eight-run seventh inning that propelled the Cincinnati Reds to a 10-6 win
over the Miami Marlins in the finale of a four-game set at Great American Ball
The outburst broke up what had been a close game.
The first six Cincinnati batters reached base in the fateful frame, with
Brandon Phillips' RBI single off Jon Rauch snapping a 2-2 tie. A second runner
came home when right fielder Giancarlo Stanton bobbled the ball.
Rauch had replaced Alex Sanabia (2-2) after the Reds loaded the bases against
the starting pitcher.
After Jay Bruce worked a walk to reload the bases, Devin Mesoraco singled home
Joey Votto, who had opened the scoring with a two-out, solo homer in the first
Frazier later cleared the bases with his two-out liner off the top of the
right-field wall. Shin-Soo Choo and Xavier Paul followed with back-to-back RBI
doubles to cap the barrage.
