PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Teachers at the East End School in Portland have been working with students at a young age - to try to prevent bullying, and on Tuesday they brought in some extra help.
Scooter Christensen plays for the Harlem Globetrotters. He enticed the kids with his tricks, passed along some of his skills, but also shared his own personal battle with bullying.
Christensen says he dealt with people telling him he was too short or too skinny to play basketball, but that didn't stop him from following his dreams and becoming a Harlem Globetrotter.
The Globetrotters have recently kickstarted a program called the ABC's of Bullying Prevention.
A: Action, tell an adult when you see bullying happening; B: Bravery, don't be afraid to walk away from a bully; and C: show some compassion to the victim of a bully.
You can catch the Harlem Globetrotters at the Cumberland County Civic Center on March 24th.
