MOLUNKUS TOWNSHIP, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The Maine State Police is investigating the suspicious death of a man whose body was found inside his Molunkus Road home following Monday's standoff on Interstate 95.

Investigators say 68-year-old Lawrence Lewis was found dead inside the home, which is being processed for evidence at this hour.

Monday's standoff at one point caused I-95 to be closed in both directions between Howland and Lincoln. Police say 59-year-old Bruce King was stopped on the interstate in a U-Haul truck holding a gun to his head. He was later found dead inside the truck.

State investigators say information obtained during the standoff led them to Lewis' body. At this point they say they are trying to determine how the two men knew each other as well as how Lewis died and what caused his death.

A man who spoke to NEWS CENTER claiming he knew both Lewis and King says the two men were living together.

"He was trying to turn his life around," said Marc Vieira of Prentiss, "he {King} was doing odd jobs and trying to take care of Larry."

"At this point we're gathering information," said Lieut. Chris Coleman of the Maine State Police, "like I said we're still trying to determine who might have been involved..how the people that we know were involved were related..what their association was."

A woman who was riding with King in the U-Haul was taken in for questioning and later released. Investigators say at this point they have no suspects in custody. Lewis' body will be taken to the state medical examiners office in Augusta.
