Scattered rain and snow showers broke out Wednesday afternoon and by 6:30 PM they had pretty much moved out of our region. The activity was caused by a frontal system that is going to quickly push through New England tonight and once it goes through look for the wind to pick up from the west and shift into the northwest by Thursday morning. I'm expecting plenty of sunshine on Thursday with temperatures in the upper 30s and lower 40s but it probably won't feel that warm thanks to the strong winds which could gust to near 30 mph at times. High pressure will build in Thursday night putting an end to the windy conditions and also bringing us a sunny start to Friday. As the high moves off to the east that sunshine will give way to increasing clouds and we may see some light mixed precipitation here Friday night as a warm front moves our way. The front is expected to move north of us by Saturday with some very mild weather moving in for the weekend. Some locations might hit 50 degrees on Sunday.
