PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- With hockey season in full swing it can be tough to get ice time when you're learning how to skate but the Cumberland County Civic Center handed over the ice arena on Sunday.
The CCCC groomed the rink and cleared the ice just for that average skater. Holiday public skating was open from 12:30 to 4:30 this afternoon at the center. Some took to the ice for a couples skate, others were kids and families getting a chance to glide on the same ice as the Portland Pirates. NEWS CENTER
asked a few of the kids why they love to ice skate.
