LINCOLN, Maine (NEWS CENTER)--Lincoln is searching for a new town manager. Bill Reed was hired as the Town Manager of Lincoln in June but after just a few months the town council made a unanimous vote to end his contract.
Bill Reed was let go during a six month probationary period. The town uses the time as a way to find out if a new hire will fit in.
In this case, Selectmen say Reed's management style was not what they were looking for. The towns police chief is acting as interim town manager.
Bill Reed was also the town manager in Veazie and he was let go there before his contract expired. We reached out to Reed but he declined to comment.
