AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A six hour standoff with police near Lake Auburn ended peacefully Friday, and the suspect is undergoing a mental health evaluation.

Police say 23-year-old Dylan Brockway threatened to harm himself shortly after midnight -- then got into a stand off with police in his North Auburn Road Home until 7:00am.

Police were able to get his grandmother out of the home as they negotiated with Brockway.

He fired two shots in the air and one at police, but no one was hurt. The State Police tactical team used tear gas to get him out of his house and arrest him. He has been taken to Central Maine Medical Center for mental health evaluations.

Brockway has been charged with two counts of criminal threatening with a firearm.
