GORHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It is that time of the year -- when parents and students decide whether to pursue college and if so, where and how.
USM in Gorham hosted a college fair for prospective students and how to begin the admission process.
Representatives from over 200 schools were there to provide all the resources.
USM's admissions officer says most colleges start accepting applications Nov. 1, so now is the time to explore options for higher education.
Finding out which schools offer more grants -- or free money, may help narrow down the choices.
Rachel Morales from USM's admissions office says, "going to college is more important than it ever has been but we also know that because of economic times, having the financial aid that is going to fit for the family and being able to pay and afford college is equally as important."
The priority deadline for the Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA, is February 15.
