BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER)- It has been one month since three bodies were found in a burning car on Target Industrial Circle. Bangor Police continue to investigate the deaths of three residents. This triple homicide shook many, including the police.
Sergeant Paul Edwards with the Bangor Police said, "It's hard to believe, born and raised in Bangor as I was, that we see crime like that."
Edwards said the city's investigative unit has been working nonstop to solve the case and it remains the top priority.
Lieutenant Tim Reid agreed, "We are very satisfied with the progress that we are making...We will go where ever the evidence takes us in this case."
Investigators have traveled all over New England conducting interviews and following leads.
"We haven't had a triple homicide in probably a couple of decades here. It's very unusual even for the state and because of that it's a top priority for us and we will be giving it top priority status until this is resolved."
Bangor Police have been working with State Police, State Fire Marshal's office, and MDEA since the bodies were discovered. Edwards said the collaboration is in the best interest of the investigation, but some public speculation may be incorrect.
"The MDEA since they were helping us this must be a drug case and that's simply not what we are saying. We use all available resources to do whatever we can to solve this crime," said Edwards.
Both Edwards and Reid agreed, the Bangor Police are determined and confident that they will find the person or persons responsible for this horrific crime.
