SACO, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Three rehabilitated harbor seal pups are getting a second chance at life.
The Marine Animal Rehab Center released the pups Sunday. They typically release the seals from the beach, but decided to try something new and release them from a boat directly into the open water. Crews went out with whale watching tours on the Indian out of Camp Ellis Saturday and Sunday.
MARC held a naming contest for one of the seals. Leigha Coughtrie of Brunswick won the contest. She chose the name Wiggle, and as a prize got to open the cage and send Wiggle home.
If you see a seal that you believe is in distress, you can call the stranding hotline at 1-800-532-9551.
