BANGOR (NEWS CENTER) -- Any seniors who might notice that their winter coat is getting a little too worn for the wear can get a free coat at Eastern Area Agency on Aging. The non-profit agency has been collecting and cleaning gently used coats to distribute to any adults in need of a warm coat this winter. Eastern Area Agency on Aging officials say they have collected 1300 new and used coats and now they're ready to start handing them out. "I think that alot of people that dont have a lot of extra money, that is the last thing on their list, food and heat being more important," said executive director Noelle Merrill, "But if they want to get outside and they want to do anything in the winter they need a coat." People can stop by Eastern Area Agency on Aging at 450 Essex Street in Bangor. It is open Monday thru Friday from 8am to 4:30pm. The office will be closed on Thanksgiving and the day after. People can also call 1-877-353-3771. Anyone living anywhere in the state can get a free coat.
