WESTBROOK (NEWS CENTER) -- Two female Westbrook firefighters have filed a lawsuit claiming sexual harassment and gender discrimination.
Kathy Rogers and Lisa Theberge filed the complaint against the City of Westbrook, Jerre Bryant and Mayor Bruce Chaluda.
The complaint was filed in Cumberland County Superior Court. It raises the issue of gender discrimination and harassment and retaliation for raising those issues. It also addresses a violation of the Maine Human Rights Act with regard to sexual harassment and a hostile working environment.
The complaints divided the Westbrook Fire Department late last year. The Fire Chief retired from the position shortly after the complaint.
