READFIELD (NEWS CENTER)--The football field at Marancook High School in Readfield was dedicated Friday night to one of its former players.

Ricky Gibson died in April after a battle with brain cancer. When he was diagnosed, Ricky was granted a wish from the Make A Wish Foundation.

He said he didn't want anything for himself. He just wanted his team, and its fans to enjoy football under the lights with some new bleachers and a press box.

His family took part in the opening coin toss with a commemorative coin Friday night.

The players all wore Ricky's number 34 on their helmets and at halftime, the school unveiled a new sign that will hang at the stadium, and treated fans to a special fireworks display.
