SOUTH BERWICK (NEWS CENTER) -- The school board in SAD 60 is asking parents of students at Noble High School in South Berwick to complete an online survey on their feelings about contraceptives being offered at school. There's also a community forum about the same issue Thursday night at 7:00 at the Lebanon Fire Department's Central Station. The forum was organized by a group of concerned parents. Last week, the board decided to hold off on implementing a contraceptive plan after some parents said they needed more information. Noble isn't the first school in Maine to consider offering contraceptives in school. In 2007, the Portland School Committee approved ofering birth control prescriptions to students enrolled in the King Middle School Health Center. The SAD 60 survey can be accessed at http://www.Sad60.K12.Me.Us.
