CHEBEAGUE ISLAND (NEWS CENTER) -- Visitors to Chebeague Island can now see a tribute to the more than 5,000 American men and women who have lost their lives in the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The Chebeague United Methodist Church has put together a "Field of Flags." Each American flag represents a casualty of war.

Among those putting the flags in the ground Saturday was Julie Buxbaum. Her son, Justin, died in Afghanistan last May when he was accidentally shot. Julie Buxbaum said every effort made to support the troops is touching to her.

Josh Taylor, one of the first soldiers to come to Buxbaum's aid, also came all the way from Texas to help out.

The church got the idea for the "Field of Flags" from a congregational curch in Somers, Connecticut.
