Police Release Details In Rumford Homicides

RUMFORD (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine State Police are releasing some details in the shooting deaths of two men in Rumford.

Police say the men were shot in the living room of their home on Pine St. in Rumford late Monday night. They have been identified as Victor Sheldon, 22, and Roger Day, 48. Autopsies reveal both men died of gunshot wounds to the head.

Police say they have talked to several witnesses and have a description of a suspect. They are looking for a man roughly six feet tall with a medium build and dark shoulder-length hair. They say the man may have been wearing either bandages or gloves on his hands. Police will not say what the motive for the shootings may be. The mother of Victor Sheldon told NEWS CENTER that whoever killed her son will pay for the acts.
