
PORTLAND (NEWS CENTER) - The national debate over healthcare reform is getting a lot of attention here in Maine. Several groups were out Thursday in Portland urging support for their side. Members of the group MOVEON.ORG used theatrics during the lunch hour to get their message out A block away the group U.S. PIRG, showed off it's cutout of Healthcare Harry. Both groups support President Obama's reform efforts. But across town at a rally sponsored by the group, Patients First, attendees were told government intervention is a bad idea. A lot of attention on this national isssue is being focused on Maine. Supporters and opponents say it's because senators Collins and Snowe will play a major role if healthcare reform does come to a vote in congress.
