Storms down power lines in downtown Portland

PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Storms caused power lines to fall at the intersection of Fore and Center Streets in Portland Thursday just before 11 p.m.

Those in the area said a loud boom occurred shortly after power lines fell. There were also a lot of sparks.

The incident caused businesses in the area to lose power. The lines stopped sparking after about 15 minutes. Line crews quickly responded to check damage.
