Routine traffic stop yields spoon with drug residue

YORK, Maine (NEWS CENTER) - - Maine State Police charged three people with drug possession Thursday morning.

Troopers said they stopped a silver 2007 Toyota sedan, for a defective registration plate light.
The occupants in the vehicle all appeared nervous and shaking, according to police.

Police said they interviewed the subjects separately and received three very different accounts of their evening.

Troopers said Sgt. Rooney along with Officer Cogger/York PD arrived on scene to assist with the traffic stop.

Sgt. Rooney said he advised Troopers of a metal spoon with residue plainly visible on the front passenger side floorboard.  A subsequent search produced approximately four grams of Heroin and four grams of Cocaine hidden in the rear console, according to police.

Police said they charged Edward Corcoran, Cameron Quintal and Michelle Nelson with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs.
