Sheriff: Pills, guns, cash seized from Avon home

AVON, Maine (AP) - Authorities say they have made a major drug bust in Franklin County.

Sheriff Scott Nichols Sr. says deputies executing a search warrant seized more than 400 oxycodone and hydrocodone pills, as well as more than a pound of processed marijuana, $100,000 in cash and firearms from an Avon man's home late last week.

Police arrested 56-year-old Daryl Searles on charges including trafficking in scheduled drugs and unlawful trafficking in marijuana.

Searles is scheduled to appear in court on June 3. He could not be reached.

Nichols says more information will be released Tuesday.
