Runners reflect on last year to prep for Monday's race

BOSTON, Mass. (NEWS CENTER) -- For marathon runners, there is no place more emotional than the finish line - especially for those who ran last year. There is a memorial set up there for the victims of last year's tragedy. Runners say visiting that site is difficult, but also an important part of healing and preparing to run this year's Boston Marathon.

Jackie and Joel Dalton returned to Boston from Michigan, and they are leaving something behind. It's a small drawing and a piece of fabric with Martin Richards initials on it, made to leave at the memorial.

They say the Boston Marathon has always been special to runners everywhere, and this year, runners from around the world say they are here to reclaim the race.
