Probation revoked for Lewiston standoff suspect

LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The suspect involved in a six-hour standoff Monday and accused of stealing a firearm appeared in Lewison District Court Wednesday.

Scott Estes, 37, pleaded guilty to a probation violation involving domestic assault. His probation from a previous case was revoked.

Estes was taken to Androscoggin County Jail following the standoff Monday and was charged with Class B theft by unauthorized taking of firearm; Class C criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon; Class C possession of a firearm by a prohibited person; and probation revocation, a pre-existing warrant. Police said more charges are possible.

Estes is now being held on $100,000 cash bail.
