Prison for woman driving getaway car after assault on 82-year-old

AUGUSTA, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Police say a woman is sentenced to 5-years for driving a getaway car after assault on an 82-year-old woman at a Hannaford in Augusta. 

Police Sergeant Behr says 24-year-old Star Black received a five-year prison term with ALL but two suspended, and three years probation. 

This is the first sentencing for one of  two people charged in assaulting and robbing an 82-year-old woman in the parking lot of a Hannaford Supermarket on April 18, 2016.

According to police, the victim spent four days in a hospital recovering from serious injuries sustained during the incident.

Taylor Reece, 21, of Skowhegan and Star Black, 24, of Augusta were both charged with robbery, aggravated assault and battery, police said, with bail set at $10,000 cash each.

Both were taken into custody through search warrants executed by Augusta PD and Skowhegan PD and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency.
