BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Some Mainers are worried that with the new administration taking over next year, there could be major implications in the fight for conservation values.
Concerns were expressed on Wednesday morning at a discussion at the Bangor Public Library.
A panel of speakers made up of business owners and state legislators - weighed in on the future of Maine's renewable energy industry.
Some fear that President Elect, Donald Trump, will reverse the progress they have made for clean energy.
Despite some skepticism however, Representative Norman Higgins, remains hopeful that their success will continue.
“I think it's really important that we continue to work together, we will disagree and sometimes strongly disagree but we don't have to be disagreeable in that process and that allows us to move onto future issues where perhaps we'll be more successful in our individual causes,” he said.
Just after the discussion, Governor LePage announced the Director of the energy office will be stepping down.
