PORTLAND, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Portland police are investigating a sexual assault that happened in the early morning hours of Friday.
According to police, a woman was assaulted at a home on Glenwood Avenue in Portland around 3 a.m Friday.
The woman told police she was sleeping when the assault happened. Police say she was not seriously injured and believe she may know the perpetrator. There was no forced entry to the apartment and no weapons were used. Police have not made an arrest.
Police do not believe there is a threat to the general public at this time but are reminding people to be sure to lock their doors and windows.
