Police: Woman severely injured, suspect sought in Holden home invasion

HOLDEN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) – A manhunt is underway for a suspect police say invaded a home in Holden and severely injured a woman Monday evening.

According to Holden Police Chief Chris Greely, at approximately 8:30 p.m., a masked man entered a home on Dayze Way and threatened two people inside the home with a gun and assaulted the woman. 

Police say the victim suffered a serious head injury and was bleeding profusely. She was conscious and alert when taken by ambulance to the hospital. Police are not telling us if the victim was injured by a gunshot or by another type of assault. 

Police say they believe the house was specifically targeted and the public is not in danger.
Holden PD says in the past, they arrested the homeowners' daughter on drug-related charges and another department arrested the son. 

Police have not identified the suspect but believe he got away with a car.
