One woman is dead after fire engulfed her Windham home

WINDHAM, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --  The State Fire Marshal's Office says one woman has died after a fire destroyed her Windham home Friday morning. 

At approximate 4:00 a.m., a fire swept through a one story home on Pettingill Road, off from Route 302, across from seacoast fun park.  State Safety Spokesperson Steve McCausland says the home was engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived.

A team of Fire Marshal investigators will begin the task of removing the body and attempting to determine how the fire started.
