Grand Lake Stream
If you want to get WAY off the beaten path, consider a trip to Grand Lake Stream in Washington County. It may take you a while to get there but trust me, it's worth the trip! It's very quiet, with great ATV trails, hunting, fishing and boating. You can hire a professional guide if you'd like.

Chebeague Island, Casco Bay
Chebeague Island is just a short ferry ride from the mainland. Explore the island on foot or on a bicycle. The Chebeague Island Inn has a huge porch with great ocean views and good food. For ferry information, click here or call (207) 846-3700

Ashland
A trip to Aroostook County will give you a different view of Maine. One of my favorite spots is the town of Ashland. It's a small town in central Aroostook County and is home to the Lumberjack Round-up. You won't find many other events like this one, which features competitions in sawing, log rolling and ax throwing!
