Motorcycle dumps-out on I-295 near Freeport.

FREEPORT, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- According to Maine State Police, 1-car and 1-motorcycle collided on I-295 N near Freeport Exit 19.

The motorcycle tried to avoid an accident after traffic up ahead slowed. The motorcycle passenger and driver were both thrown as they attempted to avoid hitting a car.

The driver of the motorcycle was Jonathan Blum, 24, of Augusta. The passenger on the motorcycle was, Kayla Littlefield, 24, of Augusta.

State Police have reported both riders were wearing helmets, the likely factor which saved their lives. Injuries are currently considered as non-life threatening.
