AUBURN, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- It's been four years since C.J. Twomey took his own life, but every year since that day his mother has been working to save the lives of others.
The fourth annual blood drive in his name held at Lost Valley in Auburn on Monday.
C.J.'s mother, Hallie Twomey made the decision to donate C.J.'s organs after his death. It's a decision that changed the life of John Brooks, the recipient of one of C.J.'s kidneys. Since the transplant, Brooks has come to every blood drive in C.J.'s honor.
Hallie Twomey is also an organ donor, having recently donated a kidney to a 23-year old in Connecticut. She urges others to think about organ donation; if not, at least the gift of life through blood donation.
