Missing camp or summer home property items? Lincoln County police want to know

WISCASSET, Maine (NEWS CENTER) — The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking the public for help in identifying property recovered during an investigation believed to be related to the recent arrest of a Waldoboro man.

Brian Bennett, 36, was arrested on Nov. 4 following a SWAT team standoff in Waldoboro.

The sheriff's office has recovered more than 140 items believed to be stolen from camps and other summer homes in Lincoln County, according to Lt. Michael Murphy.

Murphy said these instances are believed to have occurred between Sept. 20 and Nov. 3.

Police said investigators have already identified some dwellings burglarized in South Bristol, Jefferson and Nobleboro, and said it's likely many locations where items were taken won't be discovered until the seasonal residents return in the spring.

Investigators are asking homeowners and caretakers to check their residences for potential loss of property and to report any burglaries or thefts.

Questions or concerns regarding the case are being directed toward Detective Sergeant Ron Rollins at 882-7332.
