MDEA Special Agent dies

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Special Agent with the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency died Tuesday, the agency said.

Special Agent Christopher Gardner passed away early Tuesday morning at Eastern Maine Medical Center. He was 47.

Gardner was a University of Maine Police Officer who had been on assignment to MDEA’s North Central Task Force in Bangor for the past 9-½ years. Chris has been with University of Maine-Orono Police for 20+ years.

"This is a tremendous loss for the law enforcement community. Please keep Chris, his family and friends in your thoughts and prayers," the agency wrote on Facebook.
