Man robs convenient store, hit by car in Sanford

SANFORD, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Sanford Police are searching for a man they say robbed a convenience store on High Street, and was hit by a car while fleeing the scene.

It happened around 4:00 Sunday afternoon at Eastside Convenience.

Police say a man walked into the store with a handgun, demanding cash.

He was wearing a Bruins sweatshirt, jeans, and an orange knit hat pulled over his face with eye holes cut out.

While running away, witnesses told police the man was hit by a car and lost a sneaker.

He continued running and got into a white Ford car with a man and woman and fled the scene.

Sanford Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
