Maine woman files lawsuit over medical mesh device

CLINTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- A Clinton woman is speaking out about a widespread but little publicized medical issue.

Dory Ames is one of an estimated 20-million women across America who developed incontinence and pelvic organ prolapse -- meaning her bladder fell and protruded from her body. Like millions of woman across the country, she had a mesh sling-like device implanted in her body to hold the bladder up and alleviate the issues.

Now, like tens of thousands of woman, she is suing the mesh manufacturer because the device meant to fix her medical issues may be creating even worse problems and lifelong pain.
