Deadly weekend on Maine roads

ALFRED, Maine (AP) - Maine State Police say four people were killed in three separate motor vehicle crashes over the weekend.

The most recent crash was late Saturday night in Alfred when 31-year-old Joseph Barbarino died after being thrown from his vehicle after it went off Mouse Lane, struck a ditch and overturned several times.

Early Saturday in Indian Purchase Township, 44-year-old Kevin Baker and 50-year-old Julie Columboa, both of Millinocket, died when their pickup truck went off Golden Road and down a steep embankment. Baker was believed to be the driver. Troopers say speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.

Late Friday in Perham, 29-year-old Kyle Goding was killed when his mini-van overturned several times off Route 228.

Troopers say none of the victims were wearing seatbelts.
