(NEWS CENTER) -- Kelsey Lends a Hand is back and the jobs are still dirty. I've been sent to do different farm jobs a few times now, but one job I hadn't covered, nor did I know existed, is a bovine podiatrist.
Karl Greenman has been cleaning and trimming cow hooves for more than 30 years. Maintenance on cow hooves is necessary on a dairy farm because of the unnatural environment. Although it doesn't look fun for the cows, it is painless and keeps them healthy.
The process involves cleaning the hooves, trimming the hooves and sometimes taking care of soft spots, or bandaging wounds. It only takes a few minutes, but it keeps the cows healthy and producing milk for a few months.
The job was dirty, but important and it helped that the cows were cute.
