KAHBANG festival moves to Portland

BANGOR, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- The fifth annual KAHBANG Music & Art Festival is relocating from Bangor to Portland just three weeks from its scheduled date.

Organizers are saying the move is due to a series of logistical issues, but the Executive Director of KAHBANG tweeted yesterday that a lack of ticket sales may be to blame.

Bangor has been home to the festival since it started in 2009, with its mission being to bring emerging music, art and film to the state.

The festival was able to relocate so suddenly to Portland because of relationship the organizers have with the State Theatre, Port City Music Hall, One Longfellow Square, and other venues throughout the city.

Organizers said that tickets purchased for the Bangor location will still be honored in Portland and the festival will issue refunds for those unable to attend at the new location.

The organizers said majority of the festival elements will stay the same and they are offering to find solutions to any concerns involving ticket refunds, lodging and shuttles.
