Lobster Rolls

Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- Maine is famous for many things, among them, our seafood. There are literally hundreds of great places to get a lobster roll around the state, but we thought we would share with you just a few that people love.

Customers line up outside The Lobster Shack in Cape Elizabeth for a classic lobster roll. Open seasonally from March through October and perched just yards away from the ocean, patrons enjoy their meal and a great view.  The owners say they go through more than 100 pounds of lobster per day during the summer months.

At Chapman Cottage in York customers enjoy a lobster roll served on a toasted brioche bun, with pea chutes, tarragon and homemade lemon mayonnaise. Built at the turn of the century, the Chapman Cottage has an interesting history that staff is happy to share.

Alisson's in Kennebunkport has been serving up Maine fare for the last 43 years.  Their 10 inch lobster roll is one of the largest we could find, served up with five ounces of knuckle and claw meat. Alisson's says they sell more than 25,000 lobster rolls a year.
