Driver dies while pinned under crashed car

WESLEY, Maine (NEWS CENTER) -- By the time help arrived for a woman who was pinned under her car in Wesley, emergency crews were unable to save her life.

Asia Wells died at the scene. She was 26 years old and lived in East Machias.

Investigators from the Washington County Sheriff's Office said Wells lost control of her 2009 Nissan as she drove toward Machias on Route 192 around 6:30 p.m. on Sunday. As the car rolled over, Wells was partially ejected from her seat.

Police said alcohol and speed do not appear to have factored into the crash.
