LEWISTON, Maine (NEWS CENTER) --

For people sick of winter, a number of events this weekend are providing an escape.

Annual golf shows, boat shows and home shows are happening across the state.

The Bangor is hosting a boat show, Lewiston has the Maine Home Show and Portland has its Golf Expo.

All the shows continue Sunday.

Primarily, these shows are about getting consumers to pay for a service or product.
Visitors we talked to weren't just visiting to make a deal, they were going for a reminder that spring starts this Monday.

Many say they're looking forward to the snow melting so they can pursue their favorite summer hobbies.

“It kind of gets you in the mood and spirit that summer is coming,” said Wendy Crocker who was looking for a “party boat” with her husband, in Bangor on Saturday

For planning purposes, the home show at the Colisee in Lewiston continues from 10AM to 4PM on Sunday, the Golf Expo runs from 9AM to 2PM at The Holiday Inn by the Bay and the boat show from 10AM to 4PM at the Cross Insurance Center.
